In this course, students will acquire comprehensive knowledge of human structure and physiologic functions. The information obtained in the course will prepare students for courses in pathology, physiology, pharmacology and clinical nursing.

The objective of this course is to provide an understanding of the nature of professional nursing in historical perspectives and considers influential historical events to the nursing profession and the philosophy of nursing.

This course provides students with an understanding of basic nursing research processes, proposal writing in various fields, and critiques of studies for application in nursing practice. This is an introductory-level statistics course for undergraduate nursing students.

In this course, students will examine the risk factors, related disease, and theoretical bases of adults' health and nursing problems so as to provide holistic nursing care. Emphasis is on the ability to assess nursing problems and to accordingly plan and intervene certain nursing situations with a focus on family-centered care of the child with special needs, the child who is hospitalized, the child with disturbance of fluid and electrolytes, the child with problems related to the transfer of oxygen and nutrients, the child with problems related to production and circulation of blood, the child with disturbance of regulatory mechanisms, the child with a problem that interferes with physical mobility.

Course Content - Biophysical and psychosocial aspects of the postpartum period, nursing care in the postpartum period, nursing care of the normal newborn/ Complications of pregnancy, concurrent diseases in pregnancy, complications of labor, operative obstetrics, postpartum complications, emergencies in maternity practice/ Intrapartum fetal monitoring and care, the high-risk infant/ Special considerations in maternity nursing/ promoting gynecologic health, nursing care in menstrual and bleeding disorders, nursing care in vaginal and pelvic infections.
